The Fulton County Sheriff's Office recently stated that reports had come in from area residents that someone is calling potential victims and saying they are from the the sheriff's office.
The caller is telling people they have "important legal matters" to discuss.
The Fulton County Sheriff's Office says these calls are not legit and are not coming from a Sheriff's Office.
In Miami County, a subject is pretending to be someone by the name of Captain Michael Marion.
The Miami County Sheriff's Office does not have anyone by that name. The caller is targeting both personal and business numbers for individuals. The subject states that the individual missed an appointment for DNA and now owes thousands of dollars to stay out of trouble.
