Jail Booking

• Peter W. Terpstra III, 55, 1001 Dogwood Drive, Rochester, was arrested Thursday on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, driving while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies at Apache and Frontage drives and held on a $2,500 surety or $500 cash bond at the Fulton County Jail.   

Police Incidents

Fire calls
• At 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters were dispatched to a fire at Rochester Metal Products, 616 Indiana Ave. Initial reports indicate that the fire was on the north side of the property and spread inside to forklifts and pallets. Crews remained on scene until nearly 2 a.m.
• At 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters were dispatched to a fire at 5399 Wabash St. Police records indicate that powerlines were down and sparking close to where firefighters were working. Power was eventually shut off, and crews remained on scene until nearly midnight. 

Ordinance related
• On Wednesday morning, police left warning notices for junk/trash at 623 Madison St., 601 W. Ninth St., 413 E. 14th St., 402 Pontiac St. and 506 W. Ninth St. 

Animal call
• At 8:26 a.m. Wednesday, police received a complaint that a dog from 317 Pontiac St. was running loose again. Its owner was given 30 days to show progress on building a fence to keep the dog contained and warned a citation would be issued if it happened again.

Duke complaint
• At 9:28 a.m. Wednesday, police received a report that a property owner along Old U.S. 31 was being hostile and not allowing a crew of Duke Energy to come onto their property for line work and tree trimming. Police records indicate that the utility company was eventually able to complete the work.

Welfare check
• At 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, police received a request for a welfare check after a gunshot was reportedly heard at a residence in the 1400 block of Elm Street. Residents there later advised that they were fine and didn't hear anything. 

Drug trash
• Shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report about a hypodermic needle being found near woods along East 14th Street. It was picked up by an officer for proper disposal. 

Harassment
• At 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, a man reported at the sheriff's office that he has been receiving death threats from his grandson. 
• At 5:41 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report that threats were made by a man at Good To Go, 201 W. Rochester St., Akron. He was reportedly driving a black Ford truck, pulling a pontoon, and left westbound on State Road 14. Employees were advised to call police if he returned.

Shooting complaint
• Shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, police received a complaint that a resident in the area of county roads 900 South and 300 West was shooting without a backstop. 

Noise complaint
• Shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, police received a complaint about loud music coming from a car in Country Meadows.
