The following information is summarized from the records of city, county and state police agencies.

Jail Bookings

The following people were recently booked at the Fulton County Jail:

• Joseph A. Romenzak, 50, Knox, was taken into custody Wednesday on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on original charges of burglary and theft. He was picked up at the Porter County Jail and held on a $7,500 surety or $1,000 cash bond. 

• John T. Herron, 37, Hobart, was taken into custody Thursday on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an original charge of domestic battery. He was picked up at the Porter County Jail and held without bond. 

Police Incidents

Trespassed
• At approximately 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, a man was issued a no trespassing warning for Speedway, 102 McDonald Drive. An employee reported that he appeared aggravated and was talking to himself before taking a soda from the store and walking to McDonald's, leaving a vape and laptop behind. 
• At approximately 7 a.m. Tuesday, a man was issued a no trespassing warning for Super 8 and Quality Inn. A front desk employee reported that he was refusing to leave. Police additionally issued him a disorderly conduct warning.

Animal call
• At 9:20 am. Tuesday, police received a report that a mail carrier was chased by a dog running loose in the 1000 block of Madison Street. Owners were subsequently contacted to secure the dog. 

Littering
• At 11:22 a.m. Tuesday, the Fulton County Highway Department received a report about trash being dumped along County Road 525 North between State Road 17 and County Road 1000 West. Police records indicate that the person responsible was identified by mail found in the trash, which was roughly 15 feet off the roadway. They were to go pick it up. 

Cited
• At approximately 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, a driver was cited with speeding 55 mph in a 25 mph zone during a traffic stop at U.S. 31 and Sweetgum Road. 

Suspicious
• At 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, a resident of 681 S. 900 East, Akron, reported that people were possibly in his barn. Officers cleared it and found no one inside. The resident claimed to have an ongoing issue with people coming onto his property. 

Threats
At 9 p.m. Tuesday, a resident in the 800 block of Jefferson Street reported that someone has been threatening to slash, or intentionally cut, the tires of his vehicle.  

Wrecks
• At 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report that a car hit a utility pole at County Road 400 South and State Road 19 in Akron. The crash reportedly happened earlier in the day, resulting in only minor damage to the pole. 
• Vehicles driven by Daulton E. Conley and Edgar W. Wildrick, both of Rochester, collided at approximately 4:20 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Rouch Place Drive and Main Street. Both vehicles were still drivable and no injuries were reported. 
• A vehicle slid off the roadway and into a fence shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday at State Road 14 and Bessmore Park Road. 
• A sand truck driven by Cody Ogle, of Rochester, hit a parked car around 10 p.m. Wednesday at Third Street and Fulton Avenue. 

Civil issue
• At 6:38 p.m. Wednesday, a man requested to speak with an officer about him and his girlfriend being kicked out of an apartment and alleged threats being made. Belongings were later gathered from the residence and both were transported to the warming center at Faith Outreach Center.
