Jail Bookings
The following people were recently booked at the Fulton County Jail:
• Kristie N. Wallace, 38, 508 Mitchell Drive, Rochester, was arrested Friday on a preliminary charge of driving while intoxicated. She was taken into custody by state police after reportedly crashing into a stone wall at 4542 N. 400 West. She was later released on her own recognizance.
• Samantha McCarty, 28, 228 Pontiac St., Rochester, was arrested Sunday on a warrant issued out of Howard County. She was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies at home.
Police Incidents
Mischief
• At 4:24 a.m. Friday, police received a report that a car had been vandalized at College Square Apartments, 1729 Bancroft Ave., Rochester. Initial reports indicate a man kicked out the headlights of the vehicle during an altercation. Police were attempting to gather statements.
• At 4:35 a.m. Friday, police received a report that a vehicle was vandalized, with something poured on it, at 2483 S. 575 East, Rochester. A resident told police the vehicle had recently been "egged" as well. Extra patrol was to be provided.
• At 6:47 p.m. Saturday, police received a report that an electrical box was tampered with at 9295 Troy Drive, Rochester, leaving occupants without power.
Follow-up
• Shortly before 10 a.m. Friday, a Rochester officer followed up on a report about a tent possibly being set up in a wooded area near the 1100 block of Park Street, just off the railroad tracks. One was not located, according to police records.
Trespass
• At 1:26 p.m. Friday, police received a request to issue a no trespassing waring to a man who has allegedly been harassing an employee of Subway, 1932 Main St., Rochester.
• At 4:26 p.m. Sunday, a woman residing near Fansler Park reported that her father was at her home in violation of a no trespassing order. She additionally requested that her mother be issued a no trespassing warning. Police records indicate a possible verbal altercation occurred, as well as the intent to issue the warning.
Slide-off
• Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, police received a report of a vehicle slide-off at U.S. 31 and County Road 450 North. The vehicle was reportedly still drivable after being pulled from a ditch. The driver did not want a crash report.
Wrecks
• Vehicles driven by Bridget Bartlett, 42, and Deniese Graves, 33, both of Rochester, collided around 3:30 p.m. Friday at 18th Street and Sweetgum Road.
• Vehicles driven by Nicole Napierkowski, 42, of South Bend, and Xavier Vance, 18, of Rochester, collided shortly before 4 p.m. Friday at 5398 N. 350 East, Rochester.
• A vehicle driven by Angie Slone, 40, of Akron, hit a utility pole around 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Division Road and County Road 900 East in Akron.
Leaving the scene
• At 6:22 p.m. Friday, police received a report that someone drove away after hitting a utility pole near 4090 E. 300 North, Rochester.
Thefts
• At 11:18 a.m. Saturday, a woman residing in the area of county roads 100 North and 700 East reported that her grandson broke into her home and stole a box of chocolate bars. She added it wasn't the first time.
• At 12:49 p.m. Saturday, police documented that an inmate of the Fulton County Jail wanted to report a theft occurred at his home.
• At 11:43 p.m. Sunday, a man residing on Westwood Lane in Rochester reported the theft of a license plate after he was advised that it was found on another vehicle in Cass County.
Child welfare
• Shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday, police received a report that children were being removed from a Kewanna home by their grandmother following allegations of abuse. Police records indicate that three juveniles went with the grandmother and the Department of Child Services was notified.
Reckless driving
• At 9:43 p.m. Saturday, an officer attempted to catch up to a vehicle that was clocked traveling 118 mph at U.S. 31 and Sweetgum Road. Unable to locate it, dispatch advised Marshall County of the northbound vehicle. Police records indicate another vehicle was clocked around 100 mph in the same area soon after.
Traffic stop
• At 11:34 p.m. Saturday, an officer stopped a vehicle with no working headlights at U.S. 31 and Southway 31 in Rochester. Police records indicate that the male driver was trying to make it to Indianapolis. He was provided courtesy transport to Pilot, where his brother was to pick him up. His vehicle was secured at the scene for him to finish the trip the next day.
Fight
• At 3 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of Rumors, 1617 Main St., Rochester. A caller advised there were 10-12 people fighting and one man with a gun out. They were unsure if it was physical or verbal, but said they could hear a lot of screaming. Police records indicate that at least one individual was detained as a result, but do not indicate that an arrest was made or charges were to filed.
Harassment
• At 8:47 a.m. Sunday, Rochester police received a report that a man has been sending threatening messages to a former employer. Those messages were to be shared with police, and the caller was advised of a protective order.
Disorderly
• At 11:08 a.m. Sunday, police responded to Quality Inn, 289 McDonald Drive, Rochester, on a report that a customer was being rude to staff and yelling. Police records indicate that the customer was behind on payments and gathered their belongings and left.
Bus passed
• On Monday morning, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office documented that a school bus was passed by a vehicle while it was stopped with its stop arm extended at State Road 14 and County Road 1075 East in Akron.
