Jail Bookings
The following people were recently booked at the Fulton County Jail:
• Nicholas M. Arzola, 34, Chicago, Ill., was arrested Tuesday on a preliminary charge of criminal trespassing. He was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies at 6747 N. 1000 West and held without bond.
• Alycia Dawne E. Pickens, 22, Fishers, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court on an original charge of driving when never licensed. She was picked up at the Hamilton County Jail and held without bond.
• John C. Baumann, 23, Pensacola, Fla., was arrested Wednesday on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated. He was taken into custody by state police on U.S. 31 near County Road 300 South and later released on his own recognizance.
• Darryl J. Duffin, 21, 6051 Cedar Lane, Rochester, was arrested Wednesday on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated causing endangerment and resisting law enforcement. He was taken into custody by state police on 14th Street near Main Street.
• Brandon T. Ott, 39, Warsaw, was arrested Wednesday on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated causing endangerment and driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction. He was taken into custody by state police at State Road 25 and County Road 375 North and held on a $2,500 surety or $500 cash bond.
• Donald L. Wallace II, 39, 501 W. 50 North, Rochester, was arrested Wednesday on a preliminary charge of driving while intoxicated causing endangerment. He was taken into custody by state police on Wabash Avenue near Jackson Boulevard and later released on his own recognizance.
• Noah B. Wootten, 23, 4203 E. 300 South, Rochester, was arrested Thursday on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction and resisting law enforcement. He was taken into custody by state police at county roads 400 East and 300 South and held on a $2,500 surety or $500 cash bond.
Police Incidents
Safety concern
• At 3:03 a.m. Monday, police received a report that a stop sign was missing from the intersection of U.S. 31 and Sweetgum Road. The state highway department was subsequently notified.
Fights
• At 8 a.m. Monday, police received a report of a fight involving a man and woman at 3724 E. 200 North, Rochester. The man allegedly smashed into the side of the woman's vehicle, breaking a window, before leaving in a silver Dodge Dakota. The woman was advised on how to obtain a protective order as a result.
• At 8:04 p.m. Tuesday, a woman reported that her ex-husband took their children and assaulted her boyfriend at 3660 S. 500 East, Rochester. The ex-husband later reported that nothing physical occurred and he was picking up his two sons because they texted him saying they didn't feel comfortable and didn't want to meet their mom's boyfriend.
Fire calls
• At 10:03 a.m. Monday, emergency personnel were dispatched to a semi-truck fire at U.S. 31 and County Road 550 North. Preliminary investigation by the Indiana State Police revealed that a mechanical failure occurred in the semi-truck while it was traveling, which caused it to catch fire. No injuries were reported, and the roadways were shut down for approximately one hour. Additionally, there was no hazardous material on board.
• At 7:19 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters were dispatched to a garage fire at 1856 S. State Road 19, Akron. The fire was extinguished within half an hour.
Animal call
• At 11:26 a.m. Monday, police received a report that someone abandoned a dog along County Road 525 North, just north of King Lake near Delong. It was subsequently picked up by animal control and taken to the Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center.
Unwanted guest
• At 3:31 p.m. Monday, police received a report that a woman was at 1052 S. 1400 East, Akron, refusing to leave after being asked. The woman later reported that she stopped by the house to ask her child a question. She was subsequently issued a no trespassing warning for the property, and both parties were advised on how to obtain a protective order.
• At 9:57 p.m. Tuesday, a woman residing at 692 Monticello Road reported that she wanted her sister to leave, as she was allegedly causing issues. The sister reportedly agreed to leave for the evening and was given a warning for disorderly conduct.
Extra patrol
• At 4:53 p.m. Monday, police received a request for extra patrol in the area of Meridian Road and County Road 150 South due to suspicious activity and possible thefts.
Bus passed
• At 12:52 a.m. Tuesday, police documented an incident of a school bus being passed by a vehicle while its stop arm was extended at Sixth and Main streets.
Medical calls
• At 11:03 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report of an unconscious woman at a residence in the 300 block of East 14th Street. Police records indicate that the woman has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, and cut straws were found.
• At 7:41 a.m. Thursday, police received a report that a 15-year-old boy consumed 40 pills. Medics later confirmed he had, instead, taken a normal amount of Tylenol.
Wrecks
• A vehicle driven by Amanda Phipps, 37, of Akron, hit a utility pole around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Wayne Road and County Road 900 East in Akron. She reportedly complained of back pain after the crash, but refused medics.
• At 8:43 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report that a vehicle driven by Mitchell Townsend, 34, of Rochester, backed into a parked vehicle at 1848 Sunset Lane, Rochester.
• Vehicles driven by Delisha Verse, 30, of Rochester, and Brady Minix, 19, of Akron, collided at approximately 1:19 a.m. Thursday at U.S. 31 and County Road 600 North.
Suspicious
• At 11:48 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report of possible underage drinking at an Akron residence along State Road 14 near County Road 800 East. An officer responded, observing only a few vehicles at the property and no evidence of a party.
Cited
• At 10:24 a.m. Wednesday, an officer cited a driver with speeding 95 mph during a traffic stop at U.S. 31 and State Road 110.
Juvenile incident
• At 4:58 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report that a 14-year-old boy was being violent to a woman at a residence in the 1000 block of Jefferson Street in Rochester. A crisis team of 4C Health was contacted for assistance.
Thefts
• At 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report about the theft of a cellphone from 4211 N. 200 West, Rochester.
• At 5:33 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report about the theft of a phone and gun from an apartment at 319 E. 14th St. The alleged suspect was to be advised to return the property or face charges.
