Business owner plants her dreams in Tippecanoe at Sycamore Tree Farm & Flower

Off to a successful start in its first year is Katie McMullen's new business, Sycamore Tree Farm & Flower, located at 2594 17B Trail near the unincorporated community of Tippecanoe.

Having a green thumb since before she can remember, gardening had always been just a hobby for McMullen prior to opening her small farm to the public, providing flowers, vegetables, eggs, and the occassional piglet or puppies.

Growing up in Southern Illinois, McMullen said living the start of her adult life in different cities across the United States made her realize her heart's desire for country living.

When McMullen moved to Indiana a few years ago, her fantasies of becoming a farmer started to seem more realistic.

The opportunity for McMullen to create the farm of her dreams finally fell in her hands when a field adjacent to her home went up for sale. McMullen took over the property this past February, and with the help of her family, quickly began cultivating the land for her business.

Excited for what the future holds for Sycamore Tree Farm & Flower, McMullen plans on expanding her flower area to create a wildflower meadow for visitors to enjoy, and pick from.

McMullen has already started networking with other businesses.

From her hand-picked flower arrangements at Mustard Seed in Rochester for Fresh Flower Friday, to providing food and flowers at local farmers markets and her home farm stand, McMullen appreciates those who continue to support her business along its journey.

McMullen welcomes visitors to her property by appointment only, which can be made by calling or texting (917) 412-2136
