To help cover the costs associated with competing at Nationals, the Tippecanoe Valley High School cheerleading team has planned several fundraising events and is seeking sponsorships from local businesses and community members

Tippecanoe Valley High School announces that its cheerleading team has earned a prestigious opportunity to compete at the National Cheerleading Competition at Disney World in February 2025. This significant achievement is a testament to the team’s exceptional skill, dedication and perseverance.

Competing at Nationals provides an opportunity for student-athletes to showcase their talents on a national stage, build camaraderie with teams from across the country and represent the pride and spirit of Tippecanoe Valley High School. However, this opportunity comes with financial challenges, and the team seeks the support of the community.

The estimated cost for travel, lodging, competition fees and equipment is $15,000, which poses a significant financial burden for many of the participating families. Ensuring that every member of the team can participate is a priority, as this event is an invaluable experience for these hardworking athletes.

Importance of community support

• Competing at the highest level of their sport offers students invaluable life lessons and experiences.
• The event fosters lasting friendships and connections with peers nationwide.
• Representing the school and community on a national platform instills pride and unity.

Statements from the team

Senior cheerleader Reese Rensberger shared her excitement and gratitude:

“Being able to go to Disney wouldn’t have been possible without our team and coach’s hard work along with our community’s support. (I) am so grateful for this opportunity.”

Head Coach Brittany Mathias highlighted the determination of the team:

“Our team has worked so hard for this. We don’t have the resources that bigger schools have — mats, a choreographer, tumbling. We choreographed our routine ourselves and tape out where the mats would be on the commons floor where we practice. The determination from our team is unmatched. Our little squad from our little school in the
middle of nowhere is making history. I’m so proud to be their coach.”

Upcoming fundraisers and sponsorship opportunities

To help cover the costs associated with this trip, the team has planned several fundraising events and is seeking sponsorships from local businesses and community members:

Pancake Breakfast: Hosted by the Mentone Fire Department on Jan. 4, 2025, from 7-10 a.m. Donations are welcome.
Duck Toss Fundraisers: Taking place during upcoming basketball games.
Sponsorship Opportunities: Local businesses and individuals are encouraged to contribute and support the team.

Your support will ensure that these student-athletes can participate in this oncein-a-lifetime opportunity and continue to inspire others in the community to strive for excellence.
