EF-0 tornado confirmed Wednesday night in Fulton County

The National Weather Service for Northern Indiana has officially confirmed that an EF-0 tornado did hit touch down in Fulton County on Wednesday, March 19. 

The track of the storm had started in Miami County around the Macy area at around 8:20 p.m. and ended less than three miles away south of Akron just before 8:30 p.m. 

NWS reports show that estimated wind peaks from the twister were around 80-85 mph, causing downed trees, power lines and buildings in the area. Luckily, there were no injuries caused from the storm. 

Members from Fulton and Miami County EMA had multiple reports of powerlines being down and structure damage and will be continuing to assist the NWS team in surveying damage. 

Those who experienced damage from last night's storm should make a report to Fulton County EMA by calling 574-223-2011, or the National Weather Service for Northern Indiana at 574-834-1104.
