Angela Carol Ginter, 59, of Akron, formerly Eastern Kentucky

Angela Carol Ginter, 59, of Akron, Indiana and formerly of Eastern Kentucky passed unexpectedly on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at her residence.

Angie was born on Nov. 8, 1964 in Wayne, Michigan to Charles Cheek and Patricia Ann Patrick. She was a graduate of Salyersville High School in Magoffin County, Kentucky. She married on Aug. 15, 1985 in Winchester, Kentucky to Jonathan G. Ginter, who preceded her in death on March 8, 2023.

Angie was an immaculate homemaker as well as working in the auto parts industry for many years. She worked for Carquest in Kentucky and Indiana. She and her husband John moved to Indiana in 2012 to be closer to family. She loved spending time with her grandkids and they brought her lots of joy. She also loved all animals, but cats were her favorite. She was always open to helping a stray. She enjoyed tending to her yard and her flower garden.

She is survived by her children Brittany Ginter and Paul Fites of Akron and Casey and wife Jessica Ginter of Holly Ridge, North Carolina; grandchildren Bricklyn Hall, Chris Bailey, Wyatt Ginter, and Hayden Ginter; siblings Connie Little and husband Mike of Pikeville, Kentucky and Sheila Cheek of Salyersville, Kentucky.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Cheek and Patricia Ann Osborne and her husband.

A memorial service will take place at a later date in Kentucky. She will then be interred with her husband in Salyersville, Kentucky.

The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church 1001 Dehner Dr. Ossian, IN 46777 with checks to help with the Mission Fund or to the donor’s local animal shelter.
