Barbara J. Rhoads, 77, Rochester and longtime resident of Plymouth, passed away at 8:13 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She was born March 19, 1947, in Plymouth, the daughter of Richard and Lulu (Volquardsen) Lunn. Barbara married Cecil Ivan Davenport, with whom she had two sons, Jeff and Jason. They later divorced, but remained friends with Cecil surviving in Bourbon. She later married Norman Rhoads, and he survives in Plymouth.
Barbara had worked for 15 years as the manager for Clark Gas Station and for many years at the One Stop Gas Station, both of Plymouth. She later worked briefly at Walmart. She had attended the Shiloh Church in Plymouth. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, butterflies and birds.
Survivors include her sons, Jeff (Amy) Davenport, Rochester, Jason (Theresa) Davenport, Bardstown, Ky.; stepdaughter, Sunday (Matthew) Peregrine, Plymouth; four grandchildren; sister, Linda Carr, Plymouth.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Richard Lunn.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may visit from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bremen Municipal Cemetery, Bremen.
