
Eileen Marie (Kelly) Hibner, 91, of Argos, passed away March 20, 2025, at 8:48 a.m. at her residence.
On June 24, 1933, in Griffith, Indiana she was born to Stanley Kelly and Janelle (Mills) Kelly. She lived in Plymouth since 1990, having lived in Richland Center and DeLong prior to that.
On November 16, 1951, in Rochester, Indiana she married LaVerne L. Hibner Sr. and together they shared the next 70 years before his passing on January 20, 2022.
Eileen worked at Torx in Rochester, Indiana and Kmart in Plymouth, Indiana. She had attended Richland Center United Methodist Church, Richland Center, Indiana and was a graduate of Aubbeenaubbee Township High School with the class of 1952. Eileen was a farmer’s wife and homemaker for her 5 children. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery projects. She loved to go camping, reading a good book, and dancing the night away. She and LaVerne shared many trips, but her most beloved trip together was to Ireland for their 50th anniversary. Eileen loved spending time with her family and always made sure her home was ready for entertaining them.
Eileen is survived by her Daughters – Vicki Dreibelbis and husband Charlie of Rochester, Indiana; Tamara Freyberg and husband Gerald of Jackson, Michigan; Lisa Campbell and husband Chuck of Argos, Indiana.
Sons – LaVerne Hibner Jr. and wife Patricia of St. Cloud, Florida; and Gerald Hibner of Rochester, Indiana
11 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren
Sister – Janet Lindvall of Plymouth, Indiana
Brothers – Robert Kelly of North Carolina; Ralph Kelly and wife Betty of Bremen, Indiana; and Jim Kelly and wife Peggy of Rochester, Indiana
Sister-in-Laws – Carolyn Kelly of LaPaz, Indiana; Betty Kelly of Jenison, Michigan; Carol Smith of Rochester, Indiana; Cheryl Bright of Rochester, Indiana; and Etta Hibner of Kewanna, Indiana
Brother-in-Law – Dr. Dan Hibner of Indianapolis, Indiana
She is preceded in death by her: Parents, Husband, Grandson – Kevin Shaffer, Brothers – Roger and Thomas Kelly, Brother-in-laws – Larry Lindvall, Don Hibner, Robert Hibner, Joe Hibner, Steve Bright, and Larry Smith
Friends may visit with the family on Friday March 28, 2025, from 10 - 12 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, 530 Jefferson St., Rochester, Indiana.
Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. John Oerter.
Burial will follow at Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.
