Janet A. Shambarger, 85, of Fulton, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 6:03 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Woodlawn Hospital.
Born on June 23, 1939, Janet Arlene Good was a treasured daughter of Loyal and Berna Fitz Good. She was the 8th born of the ten Good children sharing her childhood with five brothers and four sisters.
In Logansport, on October 30, 1971, Janet A. Good married William "Bill" Shambarger. From their union came three wonderful children. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.
With great dedication, Janet worked a Torin now known as Lau Industries for more that 35 years until she retired. In her youth she enjoyed trail riding on her horse. To relax Janet enjoyed playing solitaire, wood searches and jigsaw puzzles while listening to Elvis. Grandma looked forward to visits from her grand's and greats, making memories especially during the holidays and special family celebrations.
Left to cherish Janet's memory are her children: Bernadette "Bernie" Shambarger of Fulton; Billy Joe Shambarger (Mandy) of Wabash; Tewanna Jo Cox Smith of Rochester; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister Marlene Kelly (Ed) of Naples, Florida; and a brother Loyal Good Jr. (Maryann) of Pulaski.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband Bill on December 9, 2016; her parents; siblings: Pauline Stevenson, Joyce Black, Jean Crist, the Good brothers Norman, Don, Larry and Bob.
A celebration of the life of Janet A. Shambarger will be Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Her family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00PM in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
