Mark P. Belanger 71, of Twelve Mile, passed away at 3:07 A.M. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Franciscan Health, Lafayette.
Mark was born on January 17, 1953, in North Adams, Massachusetts, the son of Paul J. and Virginia (Robson) Belanger. Mark worked as a licensed plumber for Swift Plumbing in Massachusetts, before coming to Indiana in 1995. On March 2, 1996, at the Twelve Mile United Methodist Church, he married Dorinda Redmaster.
Mark was a licensed plumber in Massachusetts and Indiana. He currently was Supervisor of General Maintenace and Engineering for the State Hospital in Logansport, Indiana and had also worked at Kings Heating and Plumbing in Kokomo. He truly loved working in his profession. Mark was raised in the Catholic Church while growing up in Massachusetts. Upon his arrival in Indiana, he enjoyed attending the Basilica of the Sacred Heart Church at the University of Notre Dame to spend time with his close cousin, Brother Peter Claver.
Mark enjoyed building computers, hunting, fishing, learning about anything mechanical, reading about history and past wars. He was a talented musician, with a passion for guitar. A generous and excepting man, he also enjoyed helping others out, often using his plumbing skills to help those who needed repairs at no cost.
Survivors include his wife, Dorinda Belanger, Twelve Mile, Indiana, children, Nathan (Amanda) Belanger, Williamstown, Massachusetts, Ross Belanger, North Adams, Massachusetts, Bibi (Landon) Montgomery, Merrillville, Indiana, Kirsten (William) Hall, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Vivianna Belanger, Mitchell Maynard, Hayden Belanger, Victoria Montgomery, Isaac Montgomery, Emma Montgomery, Tamara (Danny) Stewart, brother, Bruce Belanger, Massachusetts, several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, cousin, Brother Peter Claver.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at Twelve Mile Community Building, Twelve Mile, Indiana, and will be announced later.
