Mary Louise (Stutzman) Schmucker was born August 22, 1941 to Eli D. and Clara (Hochstetler) Stutzman near Nappanee, Indiana.
She peacefully passed on into eternity on March 25, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Gilead, Indiana at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 3 days.
On September 12, 1963 she was united in marriage to Mahlon M. Schmucker. They lived in holy matrimony for 57 years.
Left to mourn her passing and to cherish the memories are her children Glen Lee (Elva Gingerich) of Roann, Joanna Kay of Macy, Letha Fern (Karlan Keim) of Drakesville, Iowa, Devon Jay (Martha Hochstetler) of Lovington, Illinois, and Katherine Louise (Steve Mullet) of Macy, 26 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, sisters Inez Slabaugh and Edna (Martin) Schwartz; brothers Melvin, Ervin, and Glenn Stutzman.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mahlon, who passed on May 1, 2021, her parents, 2 grandsons, 2 sisters, an infant brother, and a daughter-in-law Anna Sue (Borkholder) Schmucker.
The funeral service will take place at 9:30 am, Friday, March 28, 2025 at the Alvin Graber residence 2607 East Macy Gilead Road, Macy, Indiana with Home Ministry officiating.
The interment will take place following the service in the Bockover Amish Cemetery on Pleasant Hill Road south of Akron, Indiana
Visitation hours will begin after 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Graber residence 2607 East Macy Gilead Road, Macy, Indiana until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, March 27 throughout the day and evening.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.
