Nathaniel P. “Nate” Gutwein, 94, of Francesville

Nathaniel P. “Nate” Gutwein, 94, of Francesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. 

Nate was born on January 23, 1930 in Francesville to the late Carl P. and Mary L. [Farney] Gutwein. 

He graduated from Francesville High School in 1948.  Nate married Adeline May Novotny on October 7, 1950 in Francesville and they had five children. Adeline passed away March 11, 1990.

Nate married Rhonda K. Yaggie on April 12, 1992 in Francesville. She survives.

Nate was a lifelong resident and involved member of the Francesville community.  He dedicated his working life to the Gutwein Milling Company.  Nate was a devoted member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesville and faithfully served Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM EDT Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesville with ministers of the church officiating.

Burial will take place in Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM EDT Friday, April 19, 2024 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville and from 9:00 to 9:45 AM EDT on Saturday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville or Humanitarian Distribution Center in Francesville.
