Robert A. Ault, 82, of Rochester, passed away at 9:49 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Woodlawn Health, Rochester.
He was born on May 3, 1942 in Plymouth, the son of Charles and Mary (Swihart) Ault. After graduating from Argos High School in 1960, Robert enlisted in the Indiana National Guard and obtained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
In his professional career, he worked as a lineman for Sprint, spent more than 10 years at R.R. Donnelly in Warsaw and worked for more than 20 years at Lobdell Emery, Argos. He had also been a Singer sewing machine repairman. He had been a member of the N.R.A. and the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, anything pertaining to history and politics, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela (Ethan) Haines, Rochester; son, Charles (Stephanie) Ault, Tippecanoe; grandchildren, Micheal Donahue, Warsaw, Noah (Shelby) Ault, Silver Lake, Keegan Laird, Rochester, Ayden (Isabella) Ault, Silver Lake, Aubrey (Cameron) Skiles, Rochester, Alyssa Haines, Silver Lake; 10 great-grandchildren, soon to be 12; and brother, Larry Ault, Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Anthony “Tony” Ault.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at the Walnut Church of the Brethren, 5975 19th Road, Argos. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 20, at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans’ Honor Guard.
