Frank P. Lope, Jr., 87, of Clearfield (Kerr Addition), passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024 at his home.

Born April 25, 1937 in Clearfield, the son of Frank F. and Grace M. (Updyke) Lope.

Mr. Lope had worked for the former New York Central and Penn Central Railroads and retired from Conrail Railroad in 1999.

He was a member of the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church.

Frank is survived by his four children; Phillip L. Lope, Shirley Mae Luzier, Rose Steiner and Wanda Smith and her husband Wayne Sr., all of Clearfield, seven grandchildren; Eric, Aaron and Patrick Luzier, Alinda Keihl (Joshua), Brittany Hunter (Brandt Sr., “Grant”), Wayne Smith, Jr. (Morgan) and Alyza Evanko, twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was the last member of his generation having been preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley J. (Mahlon) Lope whom he married June 15, 1957 and who passed away May 8, 2009, a son, Frank F. “Red” Lope, three brothers; Patsy, LeRoy and Richard “Dick” Lope, a sister, Rose Marie Lope and a grand son-in-law, Robert Knightner.

Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Rev. John F. White officiating.

Interment will be in Historic Crown Crest Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the hour of services.
