BRIDGEPORT HYDRANT REPLACEMENT

wako news

The city of Bridgeport is moving forward with the necessary replacement of a problematic water hydrant on North Main Street. Bridgeport Mayor Tyler Griffin told WAKO that the move is needed now in order to prevent potential major damage to the city water system and lack of city water service. The hydrant is leaking and could burst in colder weather. Kiefer Brothers has been brought in to develop a replacement plan and handle the removal project. The city is also planning to apply for state economic grant funding for a $1.5 million water system replacement of older lines and hydrants in the future.
