A Knox County Sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a truck on North 2nd Street behind Lowes for an expired license plate. The vehicle had three occupants inside. After initial contact, the driver could not provide identification. During the investigation, the deputy called for a K-9 unit and located methamphetamine and several smoking devices.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Christopher L. May, 37, and one passenger identified as Kyanna McRoberts, 30, had the illegal items. Both were transported to the Knox County Jail where they were booked for possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
As of the initial report by the Knox County Sheriff's Office both were in jail with a $5,000 bond.
