Progress is being made on the lead line replacement project in the city of St Francisville.

The city council was updated on the ongoing work Wednesday night by Seth Flach, construction manager with Milano and Grunloh Engineering of Effingham.

About 40 out of over 300 meters have been replaced with work being slowed this week by weather.

It will be at least 2 more months before the project is substantially complete.

After the report. the council moved to approve payment of just over $73,000 to Bryant Construction for the work already done.

The council also approved a borrowing ordinance for $750,000 through the Illinois E.P.A. Public Water Supply loan program to be used for rehabilitation work on the city water tower.

The over $11 million Cannonball Bridge project was also reported to be about 58% complete.
