The St. Francisville City Council has raised sewer rates for city residents.
The action was taken Wednesday night at their regular monthly session at City Hall.
The raise is $3.40 up to $20.00 and was necessary, according to Mayor Mark Boren to meet with inflationary costs. The council did discuss a potential water rate increase, but took no action pending further study and review.
The city will look to seek state funding through a grant for water tower improvements. Additional information will be sought as to what is needed to apply before the submission deadline of March of 2025.
It was announced that the St. Francisville Bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18 to allow for needed repair work.
