Authorities now say that a shooting earlier this week in southwestern Indiana was an apparent case of self-defense. The Daviess County Sheriffs Department responded Monday night to a residence on Indiana State Road 257 north of the East Fork of the Wabash River. Reports now indicate that 59 year old Mike Wilson of Washington Indiana pulled into the residential drive of David Goble and while armed with a gun, began to argue with the homeowner David Goble. Goble, who was also armed, told police that Wilson during the exchange pointed his weapon in his direction and   was shot twice. Wilson later died. Initial investigation shows no known connection between the two men, but it was noted that Wilson suffers from mental illness and that may have played a factor. Detail of the investigation will be forwarded to the Daviess County Prosecutors Office for review.
