Tornado strikes southwest Indiana

An EF-1 tornado with winds over 100 mph struck the city of Princeton in southwestern Indiana Thursday.

It tore the roofs off of and damaged multiple homes across a six block area of the Gibson County city.

The twister, confirmed by the National Weather Service (NWS) also downed trees and power lines.

No injuries have been reported.

The Red Cross and Salvation Army are on the scene assisting displaced residents with food, shelter and aid.

Damage assessment and cleanup work is continuing.
