
In preparation for the advent of the shot clock in Illinois high school basketball in 2025-26, the Red Hill Unit #10 Board of Education has given the go-ahead to improvements in the Red Hill Jr/Sr High School south main gymnasium.
Over $16,000 will be spent to have new compliant scoreboards and shot clocks installed by Nebco.
Four new backboards and four new rims will also be installed in the gym at a cost of around $5400.
The work will be paid for by Peoples State Bank.
Also approved were gym floor cleanings and refinishing by Allied Floor.
The board also okayed a 2026 school calendar and 2025-26 district student handbooks.
It was announced that the annual Greene Family Trust student scholarship amounts have been increased.
They are awarded to Unit 10 students seeking to attend college or a trade school who apply.
Since it's inception, the trust has provided over $604,000 in scholarships to a total of 152 students.
