Becky Gay Gray, 68, passed away on December 5, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born Becky Gay Bobe on October 25, 1955 in Lawrenceville, Illinois to Jack and VerJeanne Bobe and was educated at Lawrenceville High School where she was also a cheerleader. She married Todd Gray of Bridgeport, Illinois on May 19, 1974 and had three sons: Gabriel of Bridgeport, Kelsey Quinn (Julia Tucker) of Tupelo, Mississippi and Michael of Lawrenceville. She additionally had one grandson: Kelsey Dylan of Chicago, Illinois. Becky was a loving and selfless woman who touched the heart of everyone she met. She was involved in numerous community organizations including Dream Catchers, Meals on Wheels, Delta Theta Tau, Lawrence County Little League, Bridgeport First United Methodist Church and the Lawrence County Health Department Board. She also assisted in the operation of Gray's Tavern, the long-tenured Bridgeport business that closed earlier this year. Becky lived her whole life in Lawrence County and was a major member of the community for many years, serving on advisory boards and councils along with her aforementioned volunteering. She will be missed and remembered by the countless hearts she touched, knowingly and unknowingly, through her contributions to the community she loved so much. In addition to her family, Becky had countless friends and coworkers who love and miss her dearly. Becky loved her friends and family, animals, golfing and sudoku puzzles. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor and big heart. Becky was preceded in death by her father Jack, mother VerJeanne, stepmother Corinne and son Grant. She is survived by her husband Todd, three sons and grandson, as well as her older brother Steve Bobe (Brenda) of Lawrenceville and sisters Nancy Cardinal, Janet Wade, Carol Quigley and Linda Gress. A visitation service will be held on Saturday, December 9 from 10am-12pm at Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. A memorial service will follow immediately at 12pm. A private burial to take place. In lieu of flowers, Becky asked that donations be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
