Betty Jean (Seaton) Dillard, age 95 of Mt. Carmel, IL, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, at Brickyard Healthcare- Woodlands Care Center of Newburgh, IN. She was born December 16, 1928, in Mt. Carmel to Cedric Herschel Seaton and Gladys Marie (Dixon) Seaton. On September 1, 1951, Betty married Denver “Dee” Franklin Dillard in Mt. Carmel. Dee preceded Betty in death on March 27, 1999. Over their 47 years of marriage, they built a beautiful life with many wonderful memories. Betty graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant. She was also a long-time member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Betty was a loving homemaker to her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other interests Betty had included tole painting and reading books. Surviving relatives include: one daughter- Susan Dillard of Newburgh, IN; one son-in-law- Bruce Hattfield of Newburgh, IN; one son- Stephen Dillard and wife Patricia of Evansville, IN; two grandchildren- Melanie Dillard Chansky and Chris Dillard; two great-grandchildren- Max Chansky and Mackenzie Dillard; and one sister-in-law- Joyce Dillard of Lawrenceville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother-in-law, Roy Joe Dillard. Betty’s wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest next to Dee in Highland Memorial Cemetery. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is assisting Betty’s family during their time of loss.
