Betty L. Stokeley Young Quick, age 93, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at her residence. She was born on January 23, 1930 in Knox County, Indiana, the daughter of Richard and Thelma (Devers) Stokeley. She married Harold R. Quick on September 21, 1972, and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2000. Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church, where she was a past Sunday School Teacher. Her other memberships included the Moose Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and Elks. She enjoyed crocheting, painting ceramics, sewing, playing Bingo, cooking, baking, tending to her flowering garden, and attending the Lawrence County Senior Citizens. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and one brother, William Stokeley. Survivors include five children, Judith Grundman of Vincennes, Indiana, Joseph Young of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Laura Mikiska and husband, Michael of Vincennes, Indiana, Bradley Young of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and LeaAnn Tate and husband, Edward of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one step-daughter, Claudia Ravellette of Lawrenceville, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Tracie Grundman Carpenter, Mark Grundman, Quinn Young, Dawn Young, Christopher Young, Eric Mikiska, Chris Mikiska, Jessica Bailey, and Kyle Tate; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church, located at 1107 10th Street in Lawrenceville, Illinois 62439. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM CDT at the church. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
