Bobbye Joyce Fleenor, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at her residence.
Bobbye Joyce Fleenor, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at her residence. She was born on January 08 1940 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Omar Toy and Emma (Gibson) Toy Gaiter. She was married to John Gher, and they had four children together. She then married Robert I. Fleenor in August of 1970, and they had one daughter together.
Bobbye was a 1957 graduate of St. Francisville High School, and attended Indiana School of Business from 1957 until 1958. She worked for the Lawrence County Clerk’s office from 1967 until 1970, and for Peoples National Bank from 1980 until 2007. She sold Mary Kay Cosmetics, and enjoyed being a beauty consultant for 42 plus years. She enjoyed helping women find their inner beauty, and attending the meetings, seminars, and conventions. Her memberships included the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, Delts, and Women of the Moose. She was always up for an adventure; she enjoyed traveling and always had her suitcase packed. She loved shopping, and could close any mall down and would still not be ready to end the day. Attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events was a big part of her life. She was an amazing cook, and known for her delicious desserts. If you knew Bobbye, you knew anything could happen and she was the life of the party.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Harley Toy.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; five children, Terry Cochran and husband, Brian of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Craig Gher and friend, Lori Welton of St. Francisville, Illinois, Tracy Granzin and husband, Gary of New Braunfels, Texas, Jeff Gher and significant other, Lindsay Seyferth of Westfield, Indiana, and Robin Hudson and husband, Justin of Powell, Ohio; one sister, Sally Sandilands and husband, Gary of Fishers, Indiana; one brother, Jim Toy and wife, Gisele of Clinton, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Matthew Pargin and wife, T.J., Brandt Cochran and fiancé, Lauryn Weger, Edge Gher and wife, Devin, Kasie Gher and fiancé, Scott Childress, Jenny Gilbert and husband, Jack, Nathan Novsek and wife, Alison, Sydney VanDorn and husband, Carson, Lindsay Perez and husband, Oscar, Luke Gher, Chase Hudson, and Emery Hudson; and 16 great-grandchildren, Maddox Pargin, Tenley Pargin, Hallie Gher, Rhett Gher, Noah Gher, Aliyah Childress, Amalia Gilbert, Emilie Gilbert, MariAnne Gilbert, Rebekah Gilbert, August Novsek, Cora Novsek, Vera VanDorn, Emma Kemp, Sawyer Gaeta, and Haddie Perez.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM CDT at Havoline Hall, located at 715 12th Street in Lawrenceville, Illinois 62439, please be ready to tell your stories. Memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or Good Samaritan Hospice.
