Carolyn Sue Lewis Brian, age 94, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
Carolyn Sue Lewis Brian, age 94, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on November 15, 1930 in Princeton, Indiana, the daughter of Commodore D. and Amanda ‘Jane’ M. (Smith) Lewis. She married Billie Rae Brian on December 24, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2015.
Carolyn was a graduate of Bridgeport Township High School and attended Lockyear Business College. She spent her working career in the family business, B&M Meter Company, Televest, Inc and Petrovest, Inc, as secretary and bookkeeper. She also owned and operated Bargain Center Clothing. She attended the Sumner Community Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Bill; and one son, Bill J. Brian.
Survivors include one son, Jerry R. Brian and wife, Pamela; two grandchildren, Jed K. Brian and wife, Cassondra and Jake K. Brian and fiancé, Lyndsey Beebe; and five great-grandchildren, Bentley Brian, Kenleigh Brian, Jace Brian, Wyatt Brian, and Issac Beebe all of Sumner, Illinois.
The family would like to thank Angela Diane Boyer and Lois Earnst for their faithful care and compassion of Carolyn.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM CST at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Christy Firefighters Association.
