Charles Franklin Cotton, age 91, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at his residence.
Charles Franklin Cotton, age 91, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at his residence. He was born on September 08, 1933 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Lee Roy and Erma (Ike) Cotton. He married Patricia Blevins on March 24, 1956, and she survives.
Charles served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War, and received the Korean Medal. He was a foreman for Pioneer Asphalt Company for 37 years. His memberships included the Elks and VFW. He was an avid Cardinal’s fan and a Lawrenceville Indian sports fan. He enjoyed attending Little League games, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, James; one daughter, Joni Lynn.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; one son, Gregory Cotton and wife, Jan of St. Francisville, Illinois; one brother, David Cotton of Breman, Ohio; three grandchildren, Katie Ivers, Lori Beth Pinnick, and Kris Cotton; seven great-grandchildren, Eli Ivers, Leyton Ivers, Emery Ivers, Eva Ivers, Landen Pinnick, Drake Pinnick, Nash Pinnick, and Kallen Pinnick; and one daughter-in-law, Vonnie Cotton of St. Francisville, Illinois.
No formal services are being conducted.
