Clara Marie Koon, age 83 of Olney, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023, at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney. She was born August 6, 1940, in Billett to Raymond and Lena (Bogard) Swarens. Clara was a homemaker to her family and had worked in the kitchens of Casey’s General Store and local nursing homes. She is survived by: one daughter- Ranessa Hunley of Maryville, IL; one son- Jeff Hunley of Olney, IL; one sister- Donna Wessel and husband Charlie of Jasper, IN; one brother- Bill Swarens of Beecher, IL; four grandchildren- Michael Hunley, Brittany Krutsinger, Josh Hunley, and Jessica Cowger; twelve great-grandchildren- Zander, Avery, Callahan, Weston, Wade, Wyatt, Makayla, Layton, Harper, Lainey, Izaac, and Kinley. Clara was preceded in death by: parents- Raymond and Lena Swarens; husband- Ray Koon; two sisters- Shirley Hills and Patricia Melcom; three brothers- Jackie, Dan, and Richard Swarens. Graveside services for Clara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023, in Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery of Claremont.
