Crystal L. Wimberly, age 41, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her residence. She was born on January 12, 1982 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Terry and Debbie (Dunlap) Wimberly. Crystal began working at the Lawrenceville Daily Record in 2015. Most recently she was the Editor of both the Lawrenceville Daily Record and the Robinson Daily News. She helped start the local Wreaths Across America, raised money for the Lawrence County Humane Society, and delivered meals for the Senior Citizens. She was a fan of Kenny Chesney and The Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Her hobbies included traveling, watching Seinfeld, and spending time with Mason, Madi, as well as her cats and dogs. She attended the Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church. She always found ways to help others, and will be remembered by her family and friends as being a kind and caring person. Preceding her in death was her mother, Debbie Wimberly; one brother, Dustin Wimberly; paternal grandparents, Bob and Nancy Wimberly; and maternal grandfather, Wilbur Dunlap. Survivors include her son, Mason Parrott and his significant other, Madi Fulk; father, Terry Wimberly all of Lawrenceville, Illinois; maternal grandmother, Sandra Dunlap; aunts and uncles, Brenda Arnold, Cindy Hawkins and her husband, Randy, Tom Wimberly, and Mike Wimberly; and cousins, Troy Arnold and family, Tracie Arnold and family, Matthew Lindsay, and Mindy Lindsay. A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 6:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey ; Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM CST at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
