Doris Lucille Neal, age 92 of Lawrenceville, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at AperionCare-Bridgeport.
Doris Lucille Neal, age 92 of Lawrenceville, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at AperionCare-Bridgeport. She was the first born child of Archie L. Lynch and his wife Louise C. (Gillum) Lynch.
On December 13, 1954, Doris married William O. Neal in Flora, IL. For 34 years, they raised their two children and enjoyed spending their time together until he passed away April 6, 1988.
Doris was a member of the White House Christian Church for many years and enjoyed being active within the church. As a young woman, she attended beauty school and then operated her own beaty shop prior to her marriage to William. She was a devoted homemaker to her family, volunteered at Sign of the Kingdom, and became involved in a women’s walking group.
Those left to continuing her legacy include: her two children- James Michael Neal and wife Freda of Lawrenceville, IL and Nancy Organ and husband Mike of Lawrenceville, IL; five siblings- Mary Jane Slawson of Parrish, FL, Elizabeth Beuhler of Dover, FL, Martha McCausland of Mishawaka, WI, Barbara Brown of Coloma, WI, and Danny Lynch of Hancock, WI; four grandchildren- Doug Clark of Olney, IL, Beth Clark of Effingham, IL, James Elliott Neal of Brooklyn, NY, and Hannah Catherine Neal of Atlanta, GA; and two great-grandchildren- Adalyn Hemrich and Natalee Pugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A graveside service will take place at White House Cemetery on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Cunningham Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
