Frances Lucille (Spillman) Brown, age 87, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 03, 2023 at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney, Illinois. She was born on December 14, 1935, the oldest of 13 children to Dale and Marjorie (Fornshell) Spillman. She married Lester Eugene Brown on October 17, 1954 in Chauncey, Illinois. Frances was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport, and loved her church and church family. She worked at Prairie Farms and then United Methodist Village in Geriatrics, after graduating from Wabash Valley College. Frances is survived by her husband, Lester E. Brown of Bridgeport, Illinois; daughter, Aleta (Brown) Lockhart and husband, Chad; grandchildren, Jeremy and Aaron; son, Alan Wayne Brown and wife, Susan Ross (Million) Brown; grandchildren, Chase and Gentry; and brothers and sisters, Pat Walker and husband, Terry of Olney, Illinois, Janice Varner and husband, Bob of Olney, Illinois, David Spillman and wife, Earlene of Olney, Illinois, Judy Ray and husband, Mike of Bridgeport, Illinois, and Jerry Spillman and wife, T.J. of Olney, Illinois. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Marjorie Spillman and brothers, Kennard Spillman, Marlin Spillman, Richard Spillman, Harold Spillman, Larry Spillman, Philip Spillman, and Terry Spillman. Visitation will be conducted on Friday, September 08, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM CDT at the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport, located at 400 Main Street in Bridgeport, Illinois 62417, with funeral service immediately following at 11:00 AM CDT at the church. Burial will be in the Chauncey Cemetery. The family extends an invitation to the funeral dinner at the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport following service.
