Frank Antone Medlen, Sr., age 77, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Friday, June 02, 2023, in French Lick, Indiana. He was born March 07, 1946 in Pinkstaff, Illinois, the son of Albert and Eva (Hatfield) Medlen. Frank was a 1965 graduate of LTHS. He was an Army Veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. Frank owned and operated Franks Party Supply in Lawrenceville, Illinois. In previous years, he worked as a logger and owned Franks Marathon in Lawrenceville, Illinois. His memberships included the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, dancing, and was an avid gardener. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Jim, Bill, Robert; and two sisters, Joyce Smith and Anna Mae Henry. Survivors include his children, Ashley (Christopher) Lewis of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois and Frank Medlen, Jr. of Vincennes, Indiana; one granddaughter, Taylor Medlen; and one sister, Phyllis Crunk. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 09, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. CDT at the Emmons-Macey ; Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 12:00 p.m. CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in Derr Cemetery, with military rites.
