Geraldine Elizabeth Williams, age 89 of Bridgeport, passed away with loved ones by her side on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Geraldine Elizabeth Williams, age 89 of Bridgeport, passed away with loved ones by her side on Thursday, March 13, 2025. She was born in Joliet, IL on April 11, 1935, to Truman U. Kelly and his wife Margaret (Arendell) Kelly.
On December 25, 1953, Geraldine married the love of her life, Frank Williams. For nearly 50 years Frank and Geraldine raised their family and shared their love until his passing October 12, 2003.
She was a devoted homemaker to her family and long-time member of the Wesleyan Christian Church of Lawrenceville. She enjoyed collecting dolls, doing word searches, adult coloring books, and she especially loved spending time with her family.
Those left to carry on her love includes: three daughters- Barbara Barker and husband Larry, Teresa Schwartz, and Carol Scaggs all of Bridgeport; two sons- Steven Williams and Gary Williams both of Bridgeport; three sisters- Jean Sigwerth of Joliet, IL, Jeannette Wrone of Harrison, AR, and Marjorie Carson of Harrison, AR; eleven grandchildren- Travis Barker and wife Shannon, Michelle Coulter and husband Eli, Chris Schwartz, Ryan Schwartz, Tabetha Beehn, Joshua Reeves, Justin Reeves, Jerrod Reeves, Lonny Seitzinger, Amy Wampler, and Matthew Scaggs; and numerous beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents- Truman and Margaret Kelly; husband- Frank Williams; two daughters- Pam Strasbourg and Penny Wampler; and four brothers- Edward, Donald, Bobby, and Arthur Kelly.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Cunningham Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services following immediately at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Bridgeport City Cemetery.
