Jack Dallas Hanes, age 91 of Lawrenceville, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at Bridgepointe Health Campus of Vincennes, IN. He was born October 19, 1931, in Lawrenceville to John Walter Hanes and his wife Helen Marie (Scranton) Hanes. On June 4, 1977, Jack married Teresa Ann in Reno, NV. She preceded him in death October 6, 2021. Jack proudly served his country in multiple branches of the United States Armed Forces. He earned a Bronze Star during his military career. Jack also was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport. He is survived by eight children; Sherrie, Tanya, Stephen, Tracy, Marty, Jerry, Gary, and Cynthia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings. As per Jack’s wishes, cremation will take place with no formal services planned at this time.
