James Franklin Pemberton, age 90 of Vincennes, IN and formerly of Lawrence County, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Aperion Care Vincennes.
James Franklin Pemberton, age 90 of Vincennes, IN and formerly of Lawrence County, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Aperion Care Vincennes. He was born July 5, 1934, in St. Francisville to Junior Leo Pemberton and his wife Rosabell (Ice) Pemberton.
As a young man, Jim married Ruth Jenette Bledsoe. For 74 years, they worked hard, enjoyed their family, and truly loved each other.
When he was able, Jim attended the Church of God in Vincennes. He was an animal lover, had fun going to rummage sales, and enjoyed his weekly trips to Harbor Freight. He started out working in the oilfields until he began working as an Ironworker out of the Terra Haute Local 439 until his retirement.
Surviving family includes: his wife- Ruth Pemberton of Vincennes, IN; two sons- Terry Pemberton and wife Diana of St. Francisville, IL and Daniel Pemberton and wife Kathy of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters- Virginia Roberts of St. Francisville, IL and Nancy Adcock of Apex, NC; four grandchildren- Jimmie Pemberton and wife Darla of Brownsburg, IN, Shane Pemberton and wife Jennifer of Martinsville, IN, Mandy Pemberton, and Ben Pemberton; two great-grandchildren- Kaitlyn Pemberton of Bridgeport, IL and Destiny Pemberton of Beech Grove, IN; and one great-great-granddaughter- Salora Pemberton of Beech Grove, IN.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- Junior and Rosabell Pemberton; one son- Ed Pemberton; one sister- Betty White; and one brother- Charles Pemberton.
A private service will be held with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery in St. Francisville. Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport is in charge of arrangements.
