Jerald Ray Grigsby, age 94, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
Jerald Ray Grigsby, age 94, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on February 17, 1930 in Owensville, Indiana, the son of Henry and Nellie (Woods) Grigsby. He married Bobbee C. Mallory on May 13, 1950, and she preceded him in death on August 24, 2021.
Jerald was a lathe operator. He enjoyed fishing, working on the lathe-making parts for motorcycles and guns, motorcycle traveling with Bobbee, spending summers at Lake Sun and Sand, spending time with his grandchildren, and he always anticipated the annual Texaco Dinner.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; one brother, Vaughn Grigsby; one sister, Phyllis Grove; and one grandson, Byron Brumfiel.
Survivors include one daughter, Dixie Brumfiel and husband, Barney of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Jerry Grigsby and wife, Cheryl of Florida; two grandchildren, Chelsea Richardson and husband, Andy and Aaron Bahr and significant other, Kat Metzger; and three great-grandchildren, Maddox Bahr, Ryder Richardson, and Lauren Richardson.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM CDT at the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
