Area Obituaries
Kenneth G. White, age 87 of Lawrenceville, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 30, 1935, in Mt. Carmel to John and Pearl (Weiss) White. On March 26, 1950, Kenny married Patricia Lee Burchett. For nearly 70 years, Kenny and Patricia made many beautiful memories and built a wonderful legacy for their family until she passed away in January of 2020. As a young man, Kenny served in the United States National Guard. He worked for many years as a plumber/pipefitter and eventually retired from the Local 136- Evansville Lodge. He was a long-time member of the St. Lawrence Parish in Lawrenceville. Kenny enjoyed people…especially helping them. That was evident as he volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary and Hospice Care. He was a member of the Lawrenceville Moose Lodge and enjoyed spending time mowing and taking care of his yard. Surviving family includes: four children- Terry Williams of Bloomington, IL; Rita Volkman and husband Roger of Chauncey, IL; Kevin White of Fairfield, IL; and Peggy Brinkman and husband Brent of Albion, IL: one sister- Evelyn Harris of Oden, IN: one brother- Larry White and wife Diane of Joliet, IL: one sister-in-law- Dixie Perrin of Madison, FL: seven grandchildren: and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents- John and Pearl White: his wife- Patricia White: one son- Ronnie G. White: and one granddaughter- Melissa Sue. A time of visitation will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville is assisting the family during this time of loss. Memorial contributions can be made to Good Samaritan Hospice directly or through the funeral home.
