Lanora G. Satterfield, age 88, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 at her residence.
She was born on January 18, 1936 in Martin Township, Illinois, the daughter of Jess D. and Emma B. (Ferguson) Jones. She married Stanley R. Satterfield on October 02, 1955, and he preceded her in death on September 10, 1998. Lanora was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, where she was very active in the missions program, taught Sunday school, was a song leader and a vacation bible school director. She was also a 4-H leader. She enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens and taking care of her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two brothers, Denzil Jones and Hugh Jones; three sisters, Leota Richart, Bernice Sanders, and Faye Weger; one son, Richard G. Satterfield; and one great-grandson, Gauge Dinkelmann. Survivors include three children, Mark Satterfield and wife, Kathy, Tammy Satterfield, and Twila Davis and husband, Jerry all of Lawrenceville, Illinois; five grandchildren, Michael Davis, Ginny Hamilton, Kaye Newlin, Jessie Ring, and Samantha Shappell; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM CDT at the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, located at 12085 Pinkstaff Lane, Lawrenceville, Illinois 62439. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM CDT at the church. Burial will be in the Derr Cemetery.
