Larry W. Benson II, age 58, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Friday, February 09, 2024 at his residence. He was born May 27, 1965 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Larry W. Benson and Shirley Cooper Benson. Larry was a lifelong farmer. He served on the advisory board for the Russell-Allison Embarras Levee District. He enjoyed traveling with his companion, Georgann, Chicago Cubs Baseball, College Softball, and Sunday dinners with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents, Larry and Shirley; one sister, Vickie Fuller; and one brother-in-law, Jay Foreman. Survivors include his companion, Georgeann Weber of Vincennes, Indiana; two brothers, Doug Benson and wife, Julie and Tom Benson and wife, Chrissy all of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; two sisters, Sheila Foreman of Russellville, Illinois and Raeshelle Painter and husband, Lawrence of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Hannah (Josh) Bush, Jackie Benson, Jacob Benson, Zachary (Kourt) Benson, Brady (Sydney) Benson, Kiley Caddell, Crystal Foreman, and Gabe Foreman; and special great niece and nephew, Maverick and Marley Benson. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 14, 2024, 1:00 p.m. CST at the Emmons-Macey ; Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Vincennes Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana. Memorial donations may be made to the Russell-Allison Embarras Levee District in Larry’s memory.
