Leigh Fern Ford, age 83 of Sumner, passed away at her home Monday, May 15, 2023. She was born November 2, 1939, in Strafford, MO to Paul Foster Johnson and his wife Goldie Lucille (Harvey) Johnson. Leigh attended Shiloh Baptist Church with her sister, Charlotte, and her family. She was a collector of all things Mini and Mickey Mouse, dolls, and enjoyed watching her TV shows and fishing. Surviving family includes her sister, Charlotte Burchfield of Sumner; one brother, Lonnie Johnson of Tucson, AZ; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Darlene Johnson and Sheila Lewis; one brother, Paulie Johnson; and one brother and one sister in infancy. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Pollard Cemetery north of Lawrenceville. Memorial contributions can be made directly to Cunningham Funeral Home to assist the family.
