Margaret ‘Margie’ E. Hunt, age 83, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away on Thursday, November 09, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on April 23, 1940 in Berea, Kentucky, the daughter of Rev. Willis and Elizabeth (McKinney) Hunt. Margie had several jobs during her life, including working with computers in the 1970’s, accounting, payroll, and management. She attended church at the Wesleyan Christian Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois, where her father was once a pastor. She loved her family and friends, collected Betty Boop figurines, enjoyed reading, and loved to travel, especially to her happy place, Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. She once even went to Egypt and rode a camel. Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Maurice Hunt; and two sisters, Shirley (Hunt) McKinney and Barbara Hunt (infant). Survivors include two children, Kimberly (Dennis) Griffin of Bridgeport, Illinois and Kevin (Debbie) Gilbert of Golden Valley, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Piroska Hunt of Lawrenceville, Illinois; five grandchildren, Tyler (Bonnie) Griffin, Matthew Gilbert, Ryan (Tiffany) Gilbert, Nicole (Manny) Ramirez, and Angela (Tom) Arnold; ten great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey ; Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
