Mary M. Cannon, age 91, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born on March 23, 1932 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, Joseph and Gladys (Leathers) Hedrick. She married Norman Cannon on June 25, 1950, and he preceded her in death on November 08, 2002. Mary was a 1950 graduate of LTHS. She owned and operated Cannon’s Furniture since 1967. She attended the Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church. Mary was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Society and a card group. She enjoyed gardening and traveling to Hilton Head Island. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two brothers, Eldon Hedrick and Don Hedrick; two sisters, Lois Boldt and Verna Teimer; and two step-brothers, Vachel Fiscus and Merrill Fiscus. Survivors include one son, Bryan Cannon and wife, Jody of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Gerry Cannon of Lawrenceville, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey ; Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital Foundation, Lawrence Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens, or Lawrence County Humane Society.
