Myra A. “Midge” Gunn, age 83 of rural Lawrenceville, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born May 10, 1939 in Denison Township to John and Edith (Lawrence) Carie. On January 1, 1981, Midge married Steve Gunn in Lawrenceville. They shared 42 years of marriage together. After she graduated high school, Midge worked for 30 years at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital as a Ward Clerk for numerous doctors. Midge enjoyed cooking and had quite a collection of cookbooks. Surviving family includes: her husband- Steve Gunn of rural Lawrenceville: her daughter- Beckie Daugherty and husband Frank, Jr. of Bridgeport: two grandchildren- Samantha Payne and husband Dean of Evansville, IN and Shannen Reel and husband Jeremy of Lawrenceville: three great-grandchildren- Alexandra Payne, Catherine Payne, and Sadie Reel: two sisters-in-law- Henri Etta Carie of Lawrenceville and Penny Carie of Stratford, OK: her two beloved cats- Lucy and Sydney: and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. As per Midge’s wishes, cremation will take place with no services.
