Patricia E. “Pat” Nash, age 91 of Lawrenceville passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Vincennes, IN at BridgePoint Health Campus. She was born in Bridgeport at her grandparents’ home on October 21, 1931, to James and Marjorie (Saylor) Price. In September of 1982, Pat married Tom Nash at Shiloh Baptist Church. For 36 years, Tom and Pat made wonderful memories until Tom’s passing in September of 2018. As a young woman, Pat graduated from BTHS and then attended Blackburn College. She completed her education by taking night classes at Vincennes University. Pat was an active member of the Lawrence County community. She enjoyed being a volunteer and helping people. She was especially proud of being a hospice volunteer for 25 years. During summers out of school, she worked at what used to be Lawrenceville Nation Bank and Trust. When she was an adult, she worked at Richland County Memorial Hospital and retired from Lawrence County Memorial Hospital after 36 years of employment. Pat was especially proud of her three children and the adults they became along with her special grandchildren. She was always glad that her children were able to know their grandparents and great-grandparents. Pat was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Her church family and Sunday School class were very special to her…especially the Singles Class. A few things Pat was proud of: worked concessions at the Little League park, Treasurer for Band Boosters when her kids were in the band, member of the committee that formed the first Lawrence County Relay for Life, taught multiple Sunday School classes, church Librarian, a Girl Scout Leader, traveled to Pacifica, CA for singles missionary work, helped establish the first Psychiatric Unit at LCMH, hospice volunteer for Richland County and Lawrence County for 25 years, worked at the Bridgeport Senior Citizens and delivered meals, treasurer at Senior Center in Lawrenceville, and was awarded WAKO’s Mother of the Year once. Those left to cherish Pat’s legacy: three children- Pat Burris (Joyce Sellbeck) of Springfield; Cathi Smith (Kim) of Vincennes, IN; and Derrick Nash (Sonya) of Vincennes, IN: six grandchildren- Joy Peck of Anna, TX; Heather Shearer of Glen Carbon; Shannon Lewis of Monroe, NC; Jalee Gentry of Orlando, FL; C.T. Nash of Vincennes, IN; and Daniel Nash of Vincennes, IN: ten great-grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren: extended family- Marcie Williams and family and Jose and Cynthia Albiz and family: and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents- James and Marjorie Price, husband- Tom Nash: daughter- Mary Cox: and brother- Wesley Price. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (all CST) on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Funeral services will take place Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home as well. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Vincennes, IN.
