Robert Lee Fry, age 78, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday March 22, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
Robert Lee Fry, age 78, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday March 22, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
He was born July 6, 1946 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Virgil and Marjorie (Wagner) Fry. On October 9, 1964, he married Bobbi McHenry. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2008.
Bob worked at Texaco Refinery and the Indian Refinery as an operator. He owned and operated Fry’s Landscaping from 1972 until the present. Along with his wife Bobbi, they owned and operated Fry’s Country Gifts. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Bob was a spiritual man. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling with Julia in later years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bobbi, and a sister Bonnie Johnston.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Fry of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Anthony Fry and his wife Stacy of Lawrenceville, Illinois, a brother, Jeff Fry and his wife Amy of Middleburg, Florida, sister-in-law Vicki (Virgil) Jerrell of Lawrenceville, Illinois two grandchildren, Dillon and Tanner Fry, two great-grandchildren and companion Julia Randall of Lawrenceville, Illinois.
The funeral will be Thursday March 27, 2025, at 1:00PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation is Wednesday March 26 from 4:00 until 6:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice or to the donor’s choice.
