Rosie Bernice Morgan, age 88 of Sumner, passed away at her home.
Rosie Bernice Morgan, age 88 of Sumner, passed away at her home. She was born in St. Francisville on August 2, 1936, to Dorison and Marie (Moyes) Winkles.
In 1957, Rose married Virgil Morgan. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2019.
Rose graduated from St. Francisville High School and then worked for many years in local nursing homes as a nurse’s aide and in laundry. She enjoyed crafting and was always lending a hand on the farm.
Surviving family includes: one daughter- Judy Royse of Sumner; one brother- Roger Winkles of St. Francisville; one sister- Dorothy Lawrence of St. Francisville; four grandchildren- Heather Royse, David Royse, Matt Lawson, and Tara Morgan; several great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents- Dorison and Marie Winkles; husband- Virgil Morgan; one son- Terry Morgan; one daughter- Cathy Lawson; one brother- Leo “Butch” Winkles; and two grandsons- Derek Morgan and Jim Lawson.
Services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Mausoleum of Claremont, IL. Cunningham Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
