Sherry Lynn (Fiscus) Brown, age 70 of Bridgeport, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2023, surrounded by love at her home. She was born September 17, 1952, in Toledo, OH to Rev. Robert Fiscus and his wife Bettie J. (Burt). On February 4, 2006, Sherry married John Threlkeld. For seventeen years, they have served their Lord and built a wonderful life together. Sherry had worked at Marathon, become a Registered Nurse, and was a beautician. She had earned a Bachelor’s Degree in human resources from Oakland City, ministered to prisoners, and enjoyed traveling. Sherry was a long-time member of the Immanual Tabernacle in St. Francisville. Those left to cherish her memory: husband- John Threlkeld of Bridgeport: two sons- Shane Brown and wife Tina of Decatur and Ryan Brown of Lawrenceville: four grandchildren- Ashley Newbon and husband Alexander, Logan Brown, Damon Brown, and Maximus Brown: one great-granddaughter- Aaliyah Joy Newbon: and one brother- Robert “Bob” Fiscus and wife Ruth of Robinson. She was preceded in death by: her parents- Rev. Robert Fiscus and Bettie J. Fiscus Shappard: and her step-father- William “Bill” Shappard. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Immanual Tabernacle in St. Francisville. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Private family burial will take place in Sumner Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
